New horizons | New beginnings

We are extremely excited to announce that HCP is preparing to expand its programming into a new physical location. After 40 incredible years at 1441 W. Alabama, our time at this beloved facility is drawing to a close. We are diligently and actively seeking a new home, whether lease or purchase, to continue our mission and growth. Our anticipation is to be in our new home in late 2026.

In the past two years, HCP has had an extraordinary rebirth - from relaunching our educational offerings and reframing our community engagement programming to revisioning exhibitions to include a dedicated gallery for Houston photographers. The future of HCP is filled with promise, and we look forward to continuing our journey in a new and vibrant space.

As our move draws nearer, HCP will engage in strategic planning and the launch of a capital campaign. During this exciting time, we greatly appreciate your continued support. Your contributions can take many forms, here’s how you can get involved today:

  • Help us reimagine our future! HCP will host several Collective Dialogues and share online surveys to our community. We want your input on how our new space can better serve the photographic community of Greater Houston and beyond.
  • Donate to HCP during this “silent” phase to support our capital campaign. Reach out to us at development@hcponline.org to contribute.
  • Have a property lead? HCP welcomes any appropriate property leads towards our search. Have a property in your portfolio? See a property that would be ideal for HCP? Our staff and brokers are eager to speak with you! Drop us a line at info@hcponline.org.

This move comes at an opportune time as HCP approaches its 50th anniversary. The momentum that has been fueling recent programmatic successes and HCP’s upcoming jubilee year provide the organization with an unprecedented opportunity to propel it into new heights and lay the foundation for continued growth, innovation, and deeper community impact.

Now, more than ever, HCP’s aim and efforts are focused on increasing society’s understanding and appreciation of photography and its evolving role in contemporary culture. While we gear up for this new and exciting journey, HCP would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support and dedication to our organization. Together, we are shaping the future for HCP and the photographic community!
