This past weekend we had the pleaure of opening our Takeshi Shikama: America exhibition, which will be on view through November 24. Regular visitors to the Catherine Couturier Gallery (formerly John Cleary Gallery) will remember Shikama's previous show, Silent Respiration of Forests, which explored the brooding forests of Japan. This time, Shikama has turned his eyes stateside with a series of photographs from Yosemite National Park, the Pacific Northwest and the urban forests of New York's Central Park.
