Known for her innovative style, Maggie Taylor’s technique for more than twenty years includes the use of a flatbed scanner instead of a traditional camera to capture the objects and photographs she collects from various sources. In 1996, Taylor first used Adobe Photoshop to manipulate the timelessness of antique portraits by playing on their whimsical nature. She uses background elements to add texture and a sense of space, spontaneously and intuitively creating an ethereal style which resonates a surreal narrative content. There is no one meaning for any of the images, rather they exist as a kind of visual riddle or open-ended poem, meant to be both playful and provocative. To read her full artist bio click here)
